Mission
LIPI’s vision is the formation of a just, enlightened, creative, integrated, and dynamic society, supported by science and technology.
The missions are (1) to master science and technology in the incessant efforts of strengthening national unity and of vitalizing the competitiveness of the nation; and (2) to participate in the endeavor to develop the national community through three commitments: (i) responsibility to world of learning; (ii) responsibility to society, and (iii) responsibility to stakeholders.
Funding
As a government institution, LIPI has a routine annual budget.
History
The Research Center for Biology (RCB) implements the daily duties of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in LIPI’s role as a scientific Authority in Indonesian Regulation No. 7 and 8/ 1999. According to the Decree of Chairman of LIPI No. 1973/2002, the RCB-LIPI is appointed as the scientific authority in daily duties in plant and wild animal conservation as well as implementation of CITES in Indonesia.
