Description
The Georgian National Herbarium at the Institute of Botany of the Ilia State University is the oldest herbarium in the Caucasus and one of the largest and most valuable in the former USSR. It was established in 1891 at the Tbilisi Botanical Garden. Director of the Institute of Botany of the Ilia State University: Prof. Shalva Sikharulidze. The herbarium TBI contains about 1 Mio herbarium specimens. Inventorying using the JACQ is ongoing.Contacts
