Description
The Invasive Species Specialist Group ISSG of the Species Survival Commission of the International Union for Conservation of Nature is a global network of scientific and policy experts on invasive species. The Chair of the Group, Dr Piero Genovesi, is based at ISPRA (Institute for Environmental Protection and Research), in Rome Italy; and the Programme Officer, Ms Shyama Pagad is based at the University of Auckland, in Auckland, New Zealand. The ISSG promotes and facilitates the exchange of alien and invasive species knowledge across the globe, and, ensures the linkage between knowledge, practice and policy, so that decision making is informed. The ISSG has developed and manages the Global Invasive Species Database GISD and the Global Register of Introduced and Invasive Species GRIIS- two premier knowledge products related to biological invasions.Contacts
