This initial workshop is a part of the GBIF-funded project Kick-starting the biodiversity data publication process for Tajikistan
The workshop will be held on September from 24 to 26 in the Hotel and recreation complex Sarob, it is one of the main activities in the project.
The workshop will be attended by approximately 30 participants including: Our partners from GBIF Norway Dag Endresen - GBIF Node Manager for Norway, UiO Natural History Museum (main consulted online) Rukaya Johaadien GBIF Norway Software engineer, UiO Natural History Museum, Eirik Rindal Senior engineer, UiO Natural History Museum, Michal Torma GBIF Norway Software engineer, Oleg Borodinskiy - GBIF Node Manager for Belarus and Farkhod Karimov GBIF Node Manager for Uzbekistan. TNAS Tajikistan National Academy of Sciences - Institute of Botany, Plant Physiology and Genetics tajik partners institutions Tajik National University, Tajik State Pedagogical University after named S. Ainy and TNAS - Khatlon Scientific Center, Kulob.
The workshop will focus on:
- coordination of community initiatives related to biodiversity, including connection to the international GBIF network.
- Promoting and supporting biodiversity data mobilization for Herbarium Tajikistan (including imaging) and data publication with either BRAHMS or Specify.
- Introduction to tajik Scientific about the subtleties of publishing data in GBIF.
